About
Hi, I'm Chris Burke, and I founded North57 Music Studio. With experience as a peripatetic piano tutor in the Aberdeen area, I bring a solid background in teaching. As a pianist and bassist with a passion for all kinds of music, my goal is to make each lesson both educational and enjoyable.
At North57, I take a flexible yet structured approach to teaching, ensuring that students not only develop their skills systematically but also have fun along the way. This method strikes a perfect balance between progress and enjoyment, keeping motivation high and making the learning experience both effective and exciting.
Lessons
Lesson are delivered 1-to-1 on a weekly basis either in my own studio, or at the student’s home by arrangement. Lessons are of either 30 or 45 minutes in duration.
For younger students or those new to learning piano, I recommend 30 minutes lessons, as these are ideal for developing a strong foundation in the basics while keeping sessions engaging and rewarding.
While for more advanced student and adults, I recommend 45 minutes lessons as these allow for more time to tackle longer and more challenging repertoire, develop playing technique, as well as gaining a deeper understanding of music theory and harmony.
The exact curriculum followed is very much tailored around the needs and preferences of each individual Students and can cover different musical styles and genres, as well as music theory and music technology.
Fees
Lessons are either 30 or 45 minutes in duration with prices as follows:
30 minutes: £18
45 minutes: £27
With lesson being charged in advance in blocks of 5.
